(Adrian, MI) - The #6 Lady Cards headed out to Adrian, MI on Saturday to face off against #RV Siena Heights University for an important conference game. The Cards are currently second place in the WHAC and the third place Saints threatened to shorten the gap with a win. Fortunately, the ladies were on their game and defeated Siena 72-56.
Brittany Simmons came up big for the Cards putting up a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 4/8 from the field and 2/2 from beyond the arc. Catherine Herriman led the Cards in points with 15 while Kortni Elsworth and Hannah Sabol also chipped in with 10 points apiece. Elsworth also added 8 assists for the Cards which notched her name into the Concordia record books yet again. With the 8 assists Kortni broke her own record for assists in a season. Last year Elsworth dished out 122 assists which made her #1 in the Cardinals record books for assists in a season. This year Kortni has surpassed that mark and still has many more games to go. Elsworth currently has 130 assists for the year, a new season record which will surely grow every game for the rest of the year.

This win will help the Lady Cards as they approach the second half of their conference season and of course, the CIT tournament in Chicago. The Cardinals will play their next conference game at home against the University of Michigan-Dearborn on January 25th. After this, the ladies will head to Chicago for annual Concordia Invitational Tournament (CIT). Their first game will be played on January 27th at 6:00pm. The Cards are hoping to see some CUAA fans in at home on the 25th and in Chicago this upcoming weekend. Go Cards!
