(Wednesday April 6th, Livonia, MI) - The Lady Cardinals game against conference rival Madonna University has been rained out today.  Currently there is no makeup date set yet.  The Cardinals have had some unfortunate weather so far this year.  This is the Cardinals 5th rain out (9 games total). 
 
The Lady Cardinals next game is Friday April 8th at Indiana Tech.  Good Luck Cardinals.

The Cardinals Softball team dropped two doubleheaders this week. Losing on Wednesday afternoon to Madonna University and losing on Friday afternoon to Davenport University. The Cardinals will look to rebound on Saturday as they play host to Cornerstone University starting at 1:00.

(Wednesday March 30th, Ann Arbor, MI) - The Softball double header scheduled for today at Madonna University has been moved to Concordia due to unfavorable playing conditions at Madonna.  The game time is still 4pm with the second game following shortly after. 
 
The double header scheduled for Wednesday, April 6th at Concordia will now be played at Madonna.  The first game will still start at 4pm with the second following shortly after.  Any questions feel free to call Paula Azzopardi, Concordia University's Adminstrative Assistant.  (734)-995-7342

The Lady Cardinals traveled to Cedarville University on Saturday and came home with a split. Losing the first game 4-2 but stealing the second game 3-2.

(Thursday, March 24th, Ann Arbor, MI) - Due to the weather conditions here in Ann Arbor the Lady Cards had to cancel their home games against Bethel College scheduled for tomorrow (Friday, March 25th). Now the Cardinals will travel tomorrow to Cedarville, OH to play a double header against Cedarville University. The first game will start at 3:30pm with the second game following shortly after. (Thursday March 24th, Ann Arbor, MI) - Due to weather conditions the Lady Cardinals have cancelled their games against Bethel College and Spring Arbor University scheduled for Friday, March 25th and Saturday, March 26th.  The Cards will look to try and reschedule the double headers on a later dates.

The Cardinals are pleased to announce the hiring of new assistant softball coach Greg Brierley. Greg was born and raised in Pensacola Florida.He moved with his family to Michigan and he later graduated from Milan High School. While at MHS Greg played baseball, basketball, and football at the varsity level for 3 years in all three sports. Greg attended the Boston Red Sox's Training camp as a catcher prior to attending college.


Greg went to the University of Southern Mississippi where he played football for the Golden Eagles. He later came back to Michigan and studied Fire Science and Fire officer leadership at School Craft College. Greg then attended Michigan State University where he studied Hazardous Material. Greg is currently a Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Fire Fighter with the City of Ypsilanti.


Greg was the assistant varsity softball coach at Milan High School. In 2010 he helped lead The Big Reds to the best season in school history with a record of 34-6 playing in the regional Championship game losing by just one run. Greg also was the varsity baseball's pitchers and catchers coach at Milan High school. As the Milan Middle School's head softball coach he lead the Little Reds to an undefeated season winning the League and Tournament Championship. Greg is currently the head coach for the Queens of Diamonds 16u Elite Travel Softball team. As President of the Queens of Diamonds Fast Pitch softball Organization Greg oversees 6 teams (1-12u, 2-14u, 2-16u, & 1- 18u). Moreover Greg is the softball/ baseball pitching, hitting, and catching instructor out of QD Sports in Milan. Greg is an ASA ACE Certified Coach and is a member of the NFCA.


Greg is happily married to Shelly Brierley. They have two children; Cheyenne and Cody. Cheyenne Brierley is a junior at Milan HS and is currently committed to The University at Buffalo in the MAC to play softball. Cody Brierley is in the 7th grade at Milan Middle school following on his dad's footsteps playing baseball, basketball, and football.


Greg and his family reside in Milan, MI.

(Concordia Univerisity-Ann Arbor) - The Concordia Softball team has been working hard helping young kids improve their softball fundamentals. The Concordia Youth Softball Camp started in January and will run every Sunday until the end of February every. The camp, unlike other camps, targets kids as young as 3 years old up to 12. The camp incorporates fun games and challenges that aid in teaching kids the basic skills of throwing, hitting, and fielding, along with pitching and catching.

(Ann Arbor, MI) - Concordia University's Softball Team will be putting on a 6 week camp that starts on January 16th and runs until February 20th. The camp will be held at Concordia University in their gymnasium and will include skill sessions, camp T-shirt, and live games. For more information on the camp check out the camps' flyer below:

(May 4, 2010 - Ann Arbor, Mich) - The Cardinal softball team was hoping to end their rough stretch of losses on Monday when they played host to the Warriors of Indiana Tech. Unfortunately, on a day that honored seniors Laura Kordick (Plymouth, Mich) and Ashley Junga (Macomb, Mich), the home team could not take advantage of solid pitching in game one, or hot early inning bats in game two, to end their 10 game losing streak.

(April 25, 2010 - Ann Arbor, Mich) - The Concordia softball team needed a big weekend to push towards the sixth and final spot for the 2010 WHAC playoffs. After a 0-4 road trip to Grand Rapids, Concordia still stands four games back of the sixth spot with only four games remaining in the regular season. The best the Cardinals could hope for is a sixth place tie with Cornerstone. Cornerstone would own the tiebreaker and earn the playoff berth as they swept the season series against the Cardinals.

(April 22, 2010 - Ann Arbor, Mich) The Cardinal softball team continued to struggle against Madonna pitching as the Concordia hitters could only collect six hits on the day en route to losses of 8-0 and 9-3 on Wednesday evening in Livonia.

(April 17, 2010 - Ann Arbor, Mich) - The Concordia softball team entered this week looking to climb up the conference standings with games against Siena Heights and UM Dearborn. After playing solid back-to-back games against Siena Heights on Friday, the Cardinals went 0-3 against UMD on Saturday at Cardinal Field.

(April 14 2010, Ann Arbor, Mich)  - The Cardinals were hoping to put two solid games together at the plate and in the field against Madonna (23-6, 7-1) on Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately, the hits were few and far between on the day as Concordia could only salvage one run in the doubleheader.

(April 9, 2010 - Ann Arbor, Mich) - The Concordia softball team entered Thursday's double-header against Siena Heights looking for their first conference win. Catherine Herriman (So - Adrian, Mich) tossed her best game of the season as she went the distance giving up only five hits with two strike outs and no walks against the Saints.

(March 31, 2010 - Dearborn, Mich) - The Cardinals opened their WHAC season on Wednesday afternoon as they traveled to UM Dearborn in hopes to get the regular season off to a good start. After finding themselves down 2-0 in the top of the seventh inning, the Cardinals would force the home team to take their last at bat in order to pull off the win.

(March 29, 2010, Ann Arbor, Mich) The Concordia softball team had a tough afternoon at Cardinal Field on Monday as they ran into a hot Adrian team that would score 27 runs on 28 hits in the two games to drop the Cardinals to 5-11 heading into conference play.

(March 24, 2010 - Ann Arbor, Mich) After playing a tough non-conference schedule over the past few weeks, the Concordia softball team was able to take advantage of lively bats by collecting 21 hits over two games en route to a sweep of the Albion College Britons.

The Concordia University softball team is hoping that their tough non-conference schedule will help them contend for a top WHAC spot in the 2010 season.  The team traveled to Indiana to on Friday to take on the 7th ranked (NAIA DI) Bethel Pilots before hosting #15 Saginaw Valley State (NCAA D2) in Ann Arbor on Saturday.
